Even from the beginning of this course, before I even met my professor, I heard horror stories of the ridiculous amounts of work that would be assigned. Not only that, but I also heard stories of the crazy state of mind said professor was in. I signed up for this course for two reasons. One, I like challenges, moreso I like to overcome challenges that I hear stump others. Two, I knew that if this professor was this HARD and people still took him, he must be one hell of a fucking teacher. From the first time I met Dr. Harrison, I knew I had chosen the right class. Even on his most basic level, Dr. Harrison is the most interesting individual I’ve ever met.
As of now, I really don’t have any specific goals as a researcher other than just noticing random things that could make amazing research papers. I am a full-time college student and cannot really pursue any fullscale research projects as of now. But I can say that I can see myself writing many more research papers in the future, whether it be for my career or just out of general research.
My proudest moment in the course I must say is at the end of our last class of the course, Dr. Harrison asked us to think about someone else in the class that either directly or indirectly motivated us. I was quite surprised to hear that my confidence to speak up in class and just being a friendly person actually motivated at least 4 other people!! I would have never guessed that I helped others succeed in their academic careers! That activity really made me swell up with pride and motivated me to be an even friendlier and happier person altogether! From all of this course I think that just the mentality that everyone of us is a writer will stick with me the most. Whether your write a 10 page blog, or a 5 line poem, you are a writer through and through!
